Reynoldsville- Hummingbird Speedway concluded its' 2025 season Saturday night with the running of the Dirty Bird Bash. The Srock Contracting Super Late Models and the D. Fenton Fabrications & Mechanical Pure Stocks co-headlined the evening with huge specials. The Super Late Models competed in the Super Late Model Shootout which was 35-laps and paid $4,000/win, $500/start courtesy of Lee and Holly Srock, Srock's Away From Home Pet Resort, and several other sponsors. The #12 of Ryan Montgomery led from green flag to checkered flag on his way to tallying his second career win at the Bird and collecting the $4,000 payday. The #24 of Tyler Wyant was victorious in the $300/win King of the Hill that was run courtesy of Appalachian Specialty Transport, Tracy Mennitti & Bill VanCuren, and Top to Bottom Tree & Lawncare. Holly Srock and Away From Home Pet Resort put up an additional $1,000 to be split between Hummingbird Legal Semi Late Models that made the show. Dan Smeal, Kyle Shannon, B.J. Hudson, Bryan Benton, Doug Surra, and Vern Ward all shared in the extra money. The Pure Stocks competed in the Pure Adrenaline 25 which was 25-laps and paid $1,568/win, $150/start courtesy of Russ Clark/Keystone Rail Recovery and several other sponsors. The #88 of Josh Fields took the race lead on lap 18 and never looked back enroute to his fifth win of the year and his 40th career win at the track in a Pure Stock. The Ken Schaffer Excavating Pro Stocks and Brooks Services Four-Cylinders were also in action with the #55C of Brandon Connor taking the checkers in the Pro Stocks and the #8H of Joe Huber doing so in the Four-Cylinders. Brandon's win was his second this season and his 23rd career win at the Speedway. Joe's win was his first career at the Bird.
The feature racing action commenced with the Ken Schaffer Excavating Pro Stocks. The 2025 Pro Stock track champion Jim Bloom and Brandon Connor led the field to the green flag for their 20-lap feature event. Connor edged out to the lead on the start and used the momentum on the highside to lead lap 1 over Bloom and Dennis Curry Jr.. On lap 3, newcomer Nathan Yeaney used the inside line to his advantage to make the pass on Curry Jr. to move into third. The top 3 ran as-is as the laps clicked away. At the halfway point on lap 10, it was Connor leading the way over Bloom and Yeaney. Bloom pushed up the track in turns 3 and 4 which allowed Yeaney to slip underneath and take the second position behind Connor as lap 11 was completed. One lap later, on lap 12, Bloom took his car to the pit area with a mechanical issue, retiring him from the race. This moved Curry Jr. back into a podium position in third. Yeaney was able to close in on Connor throughout the closing laps of the race, but it was to no avail as Connor held on to pick up the win in a caution-free race. The win was Connor's second this season and his 23rd career win in a Pro Stock at Hummingbird. Yeaney, Curry Jr., Josh Seippel, and Bill Swaney rounded out the top 5. Bloom won the lone heat race.
The D. Fenton Fabrications & Mechanical Pure Stocks took to the 1/3-mile bullring next for the Pure Adrenaline 25, paying $1,568/win and $150/start. The 2025 Pure Stock track champion Tim Steis and newcomer Camron Kramer led a full-field to flagman Earl Jackson's green flag. Steis pulled out to the lead on the start and led the opening lap over Kramer and Jake Foradori. On lap 5, newcomer Darr Diegelman was able to make the pass on Foradori for the third spot. The next three laps of the race were completed before the first caution flag was displayed on lap 8. After another quick caution flag, it was still Steis leading the way over Kramer and Diegelman. On lap 9, Diegelman was able to work his way past Kramer to move into the runner-up position just before another caution. After the restart, on lap 10, William Baker Jr. was able to make the pass on Kramer to move into third behind the leaders. Following another caution on lap 11, Baker Jr. was able to work his way around Diegelman for second on lap 12 before another caution. On the ensuing restart, it was Steis still out front over Baker Jr. and Diegelman. At the halfway mark on lap 13, Josh Fields was able to make the pass to the inside of Diegelman to move into third behind Steis and Baker Jr.. One lap later, on lap 14, a charging Fields completed the pass on Baker Jr. to move into second behind Steis. Another couple of laps were completed before another caution. On the lap 16 restart, Fields got to the inside of Steis to challenge for the top spot. The two raced side-by-side for about a lap or so before Fields completed the pass and took the race lead on lap 18. Through some more caution flags over the next four laps, it remained Fields leading with Steis and Baker Jr. following behind. Fields checked out on the field on the final restart on lap 22 and never looked back as he captured the $1,568 payday and collected his fifth win of the season and 40th career win at the Bird in a Pure Stock. On the final lap, Bruno Mowery was able to make the pass on Baker Jr. to finish third behind Fields and Steis. Andy Frey completed the top 5. Josh Fields, Kramer, Steis, Foradori, and Kaden Michael won the heat races. Fields was the fastest in qualifying.
Tyler Wyant and Ryan Montgomery led a stout, full-field of Srock Contracting Super Late Models trackside for the 35-lap Super Late Model Shootout paying $4,000/win, $500/start. Six Semi Late Models took the green flag, which guaranteed each of them a share of $1,000 put up by Holly Srock and Away From Home Pet Resort to reward those Semi Lates that made the race. On the initial start, Montgomery jumped out to the lead and led lap 1 over Wyant and 2025 Super Late Model Track Champion Denny Fenton. On lap 2, Paul Kot used the low line to his advantage to make the pass on Fenton and move into third. A number of laps later, on lap 8, Fenton was able to work his way back past Kot for the third position. A few more laps were completed before the first caution flag of the race on lap 11. On the restart, it was Montgomery leading the way with Wyant second and Fenton third. On lap 12, a charging Dan Smeal, in a Semi Late Model, made the pass on Fenton to move into the third spot behind the leaders. Four more laps were completed before another caution flag was displayed. On the ensuing restart on lap 16, it was still Montgomery at the point with Wyant and Smeal following behind. On lap 17, Kot looked to the inside of Smeal and made the pass to move back into third. A few more laps were completed before another caution. After another quick caution flag, the race saw its final restart on lap 22. Montgomery still led the way over Wyant and Kot. On lap 25, Dylan Cecce was able to work his way past Kot to move into a podium position in third. Wyant kept the pressure on Montgomery throughout the final 10 laps of the race as the top two separated themselves from the rest of the field. The pressure did not phase Montgomery though as he went on to take the checkers to complete a dominating performance leading flag-to-flag and cashing in on the $4,000 prize. The win was Montgomery's second career win at the Speedway. The rest of the top 5 was Wyant, Cecce, Jon Lee (who drove from 26th to 4th), and Kot. Montgomery, Fenton, Kot, and Wyant won the heat races. Levi Yetter was fastest in Time Trials. Wyant took the win in the $300/win King of the Hill that was run.
The final feature event of the 2025 season was the 15-lapper for the Brooks Services Four-Cylinders. Zack Frantz and newcomer Joe Huber led the field of 17 to green. Frantz and Shawn Hadden, who had been able to get past Huber shortly after the start, raced side-by-side for most of the opening lap with Hadden edging Frantz out at the line to lead the lap with Huber in third. Another lap was completed before the first caution flag of the race. On the restart, it was Hadden out front over Frantz and Huber. On lap 3, Huber made the pass on Frantz for second on the highside. A couple of laps later, on lap 5, Frantz was able to retake the second spot from Huber on the inside line. Through a couple of additional quick caution flags with only one additional lap getting completed, Huber was able to get back past Frantz to move back into second position. At halfway on lap 8, it was Hadden still leading the way over Huber and Frantz. Another lap was completed before another caution flag was displayed. On the final restart of the race on lap 9, Huber put the pressure on Hadden for the top spot. Huber worked Hadden over for the next 4-5 laps before finally getting to the outside of him and edging ahead for the lead as they came to the line to get the white flag from flagman Earl Jackson. The two raced side-by-side for the duration of the final lap, and when they came around to take the checkers, it was Huber that held on to take the checkers by just 0.149 seconds over Hadden. The win was Huber's first career win at Hummingbird. Frantz, Dennis Harrison lll, and Isaac Exley rounded out the rest of the top 5. Frantz, Huber, and Hadden won the heat races.
